TimsBamma Posted August 3, 2006 Report Posted August 3, 2006 As it says in the title I guess. I've read with interest the threads regarding door speaker removal. Thanks :( However haven't been able to track down any info on replacing the dash mounted tweeters on a Mk2 Alhambra. Could anyone give any pointers? Do I need to remove the grilles on top or is it a case of getting under the dash :( Have chucked the Scala cassette in favour (temporarily) of a JVC single CD H/U, but want to replace the front 8 speakers with new Components and get a better Head Unit later on as well. Speakers may be Alpine SPS 171A's as I can get them for Quote
Dave-G Posted August 4, 2006 Report Posted August 4, 2006 You must be twiterpated mate :D In general the galaxy has very good harmonics, but if you must change them then so be it. The grills lift off the dash mounted speakers quite easily - from the top :D Quote
TimsBamma Posted August 4, 2006 Author Report Posted August 4, 2006 Thanks for the info. :D TBH the sounds aren't all that (perhaps they've been kiddied) My previous Audi A6 and Seat Leon Cupra R had better standard systems and they weren't audiophile by any stretch of the imagination so it just seems a good idea to make that part of the driving experience a bit better. Or try anyway. Quote
Masked Marauder Posted August 4, 2006 Report Posted August 4, 2006 I can't hear anything from my tweeters so I guess whoever butchered the wires never wired them up! I keep meaning to check the wires out, but don't know if it is worth it! Quote
